Our interdisciplinary team at NC State has been working on improving various aspects of BeanPACK, the dynamic grower decision support tool that aids soybean producers in making data-driven decisions on soybean planting date and maturity group use by region of the state.

Improvements include integration of ~15,000 data points from the NC State Official Variety Testing Program and improvement for mobile useability of the tool, a key piece of feedback shared that needed addressing from beta-testers of the tool when it was launched last fall.

Our next step in improving BeanPACK includes integration of farmer data to help improve our recommendations! Stay tuned for more details this winter.
